CARE INSTRUCTIONS
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
For crisp impressions every time, start with a clean stamp. Brush away debris with a soft toothbrush. For a deeper clean, use mild soapy water or isopropyl alcohol as needed, then dry completely before storing.
How to Get a Clean Impression
Stamping on veg-tan leather is simple with a few basic supplies. Follow the steps below, practice on a scrap piece first, and you’ll be ready to stamp with confidence.
Wet the Leather
Evenly moisten the leather and allow the surface to begin drying.
Add Stamp + Press Plate
Place the stamp and top plate over your leather, aligned beneath the ram.
Press Leather
Apply firm, even pressure for a few seconds to create the impression.

Tips + Tricks
Keep your leather flat
Keep your leather flat
Keep your leather completely flat while pressing. Any lifting or bending can cause corners or edges to appear in the impression.
Use even pressure
Use even pressure
You don’t need excessive force to create a strong impression. Apply steady, even pressure for about 5 seconds. If you’re using a heavy-duty press (5-ton or higher), avoid over-pressing.
Pressing larger stamps
Pressing larger stamps
For stamps larger than a few square inches, press in sections for the best results. Start in the center, then carefully move the stamp and leather to press each area until the full design has been stamped.
Practice first
Practice first
Before stamping your finished project, practice on scrap veg-tan leather. Most makers find it takes a few impressions to get comfortable. If you notice white Delrin residue on your first few impressions, it can be gently brushed away once the leather has fully dried.
No arbor press? Use a C-Clamp
No arbor press? Use a C-Clamp
A C-clamp can also be used to press the stamp into leather. Sandwich the leather and stamp between press plates or wood blocks, then tighten evenly for a few seconds. For larger stamps, make sure each area of the design has been clamped so the full impression comes through clearly.
